Tools & Data

Tools & data, built in the open.

Every tool here runs entirely in your browser, and every dataset states where its numbers came from. No sign-in, no black boxes. When we haven't verified something, the page says so.

Grading-EV Calculator

Grading is a bet you place before you know the grade. This runs the expected value of a submission from your own inputs: grade odds, the market at each grade, and the fees. It won't tell you a book is worth grading. It tells you whether your numbers say so, and it's honest about the cases where a positive average is really a low-odds gamble on the top grade.

First-Print Checker

A guided walk through your book's colophon (奥付) that returns a verdict with a confidence level, not just a definition. It handles the 第1刷 test, the date check, obi and edition traps, and counterfeit red flags, and it's honest about what a checker can and can't settle: for real money, a key still needs a grader.

Complete CBCS Manga Census

The frozen CBCS population report for 25 first-print grails, read directly the day before submissions closed: 3,982 slabs, every grade, sortable. No 10s or 9.9s exist on any grail. Every figure is a direct read of the report, labelled by source, and the set will never grow now that CBCS has stopped grading.

Preservation Fit-Finder Coming soon

Manga comes in a dozen trim sizes and the supply market barely acknowledges it, so collectors end up cutting cardboard to fit. This will match a format or a specific series to the bags, boards, and cases that actually fit it, built on measurements we take ourselves, with thickness recorded because that is the dimension nobody publishes and the one that makes sleeves fail. Where nothing on the market fits, it will say so plainly rather than sell you a near-miss.

Why these, and why free Tools earn trust; trust is the whole business. A dealer who hands you the math to talk yourself out of a purchase is a dealer worth believing when the math points the other way. Everything here is client-side and free because the point isn't the tool, it's being the source you check first. See the reasoning in You can't read a slab.
